Hong Kong Part 4

Day 6:

"Woke up and headed back to the little village with Charlie and his sister Tina, were we walked around to a place to higher kayaks. No photos were taken that day as I was too busy... well kayaking. We went around the bay and stopped off for a break on an deserted island. I decided to explore, but as soon as I got closer to some bushes, a wild dog shot out of the foliage and was barking and running straight for me. In a mass panic, I turned and legged it straight into the water. Literally was so scared as it was bearing its teeth. We then left the island and continued to kayak, before heading into town to get some lunch before heading home"

Day 7:

"Woke unfeeling rather tired today but I didn't let at stop me as today I was heading to Ocean Park for my dolphin encounter. We set off all the way to admiralty station by train and then got in a massive queue for the bus. We arrived to a massive park complex and lots of people. It was rammed and we were going to be late if we had queued to pay for the experience.

So we went to the help office where we were escorted to a ticket booth and then escorted all the way up to the experience as we were running late and the queue for the train to the top of the park was so busy that we would have missed the experience.

We arrived and met Woody, our guide, who educated us. Turns out he was living in England for 7 years and went to Nottingham University and studied environmental sciences. After the talk we watched a safety video and then geared up. We all wore some very attractive waders and had to sterilise our arms.

Sexy waders
We then went out and met Kiki the dolphin. It was literally amazing. I fed her fish and squid and stroked her and touched her fins, belly and back. It was all very exciting. She felt like smooth plastic that is sometimes put on sofas to protect them. It was actually quite strange touching a live dolphin, it didn't really sink in until after the experience was over. We also made her dance and did some other trainer moves. I also got to hold her. Literally amazing!

We then went and got lunch from McDonalds... Queued for 30mins, it was super hot. I ended up have a McSpicy Chicken Burger, fries and orange juice. The burger was amazing. So flavoursome. The most flavoursome thing I have ever had there.

We then queued 45mins for the cable cart down to the lower park. It was worth the wait, as the view was absolutely stunning. We then headed to the panda enclosure where I watched a red panda for a while. They literally are the cutest things ever, but all I could think of was how it was a shame it wasn't in the wild.

As it was 4ish we decided to head home as we were tired and hot. When we got to Sha Tin, we finally got a choux creme after passing it for the last 6 days and always being tempted. I had a triple chocolate one and Charlie has a tiramisu one. It was really good.

Came home and swam and chilled. Had ham, dauphinoise potatoes and salad for dinner. Yummy! Last night and early rise tomorrow. Should probably head to sleep as we fly to Tokyo, Japan in the morning!"
