Hong Kong Part 2

18:29

As a continuation to my previous post (sorry it has been a little later than planned, revision is getting in the way):

Day 3:

"Woke up after a terrible night sleep. Had some weird jet lag and couldn't sleep until 5am after I had face timed home as it was still early evening there.

Around midday we decided to head on the bus from Sha Tin to Sai Kung. The journey took an hour by bus full of locals. We arrived in a beautiful town surrounded by a blue turquoise bay and loads of little islands. We walked a long the pier and saw locals selling fish out of buckets on their boats.. The fish were gutted and descaled, even filleted while still alive in front of us.

We then walked along the seafront, past many restaurants who were selling fish alive to choose for dinner... There were even large groupers in a massive tank over a metre long. It was kinda disgusting... And not necessary considering there were several of these same restaurants fully stocked with all sort of live seafood... (Sorry the environmentalist in me is coming out)

Assortment of fish, crustaceans and who knows what. All alive
We then went to a Indian restaurant. One of Charlie's faves. I had a chicken balti and steamed rice. Yummy indeed. We then walked along the seafront more and sat and watched some windsurfers fall over as the wind had picked up.. Even though it was the last day of bad weather. Afterwards we returned home and chilled and then Charlie's parents arrived back from Malaysia.

We had chicken Kiev for dinner then headed out for a night out with Charlie's friend Natasha, who is cool. We went to the soho area for cocktails, the first place was ok...mojitos were rubbished...full of soda water. The second place, Numero 15, a cocktail and tapas bar was really good. I had a take on g&t with lychee in it, very strong but very tasty. Ended up spending HK$625 (£47 between ) there in total. I highly recommend Numero 15 for a good cocktail. Didn't try the food but it did look delicious. We then went to the clubbing district... Not my scene. Ended up coming home around 2 and went to bed.

Definitely hanging today..."

Day 4:

Not much was written on day 4 due to a combination of jet lag, hangover and heat. It was spent mostly around the complex's pool. Until I got bitten by a large mosquito.
