As I have been busy with exams I have not been able to head into the city to go shopping. So instead I have been searching online for the perfect outfit to wear to a Regatta, after my friend Sadie invited me. Now as Regattas are a formal occasion, none of my short smart dresses would do (plus I wanted to use this as an excuse to procrastinate online). Strict dress codes restrict you to a knee length dress or smart trousers. This is where I started getting excited. I do not only want to stand out from the crowd but also I have been wanting a co-ord trouser suit for ages. As I am still a student, I have yet to purchase a suit for work. Therefore I turned to Asos, my favourite online shop, especially with my Premier account allowing clothes to arrive the next day.

I searched and searched the site until I came across a pastel, floral bombers jacket and matching trousers. Perfect! Especially as pastels and floral patterns are my absolute fave to wear in the Spring/Summer. I decided to purchase the suit, as I justified that I could spend the amount of money it demanded as I could not only wear the suit together but also as separates (they have already seen many uses currently... I'm currently wearing the jacket as I write this).

On arrival the 2 pieces together give off a casual-sophisticated vibe, so I have decided to pair the suit with a crisp white shirt and white wooden heeled sandals also from Asos. Here is the finished look at the Regatta:

I wanted to go for a spring summer vibe with my make up at the Regatta. The weather turned out to be very sunny after a night of thunderstorms. Therefore I wanted a bright pink lip to add a pop of vibrant colour to my pastel outfit. This was created by Clinique's Long Lasting lipstick in shade Watermelon and was layered with their lip gloss Clearly Pink.

Otherwise I went for the ever trustworthy cat flick eyeliner created using Maybelline's Master Precise liquid eyeline, finished with Eyeko's Long Lash Skinny Mascara.

Favourite Things in April/May

So as spring has arrived and I have chosen my favourite things from April and May. I have recently been hiding in the depths of the library and my bedroom, studying for my LAST ever exams. After I graduated last year I never thought I would be doing more exams as a postgraduate. I have had 4 in total (well 2 more to go as I write this).

Firstly, as previously mentioned in a previous post, I have been loving Soap and Glory's Hand Food Cream. The scent is divine, with a citrusy sweet note, and leaves my hands incredibly soft. I have found in the past that most hand creams I have tried, leave an oily feel to my hands, which this product doesn't.

Secondly, after searching for a new liquid eyeliner, as I have decided to move on from my Clinque pencil eyeliner days (RIP), my friend Rachel recommended Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner pen. I have been loving it ever since I have bought it. The colour isn't too extreme and it glides on easily providing me with a full and ever trustworthy cat flick. Essential to my make up routine.

Thirdly, for my cousin's wedding I decided to purchase a new red lipstick. I didn't want it to be too matt or bright as it was a spring wedding. So I found Mac's lipstick in shade Lady Bug. With a light application using a lip brush, it creates a nice lasting "frosty" red stain to my lips. I only had to reapply it once in the evening.

Another make up product I have recently discovered is a blusher: 102 Innocent Peach by Clinique. It's peachy colour creates, in my eyes at least, a perfect spring glow on top of my foundation. For anyone who knows me, I do not wear foundation, as in the past I have found it irritates my skin. But due to wedding and many important occasions, I have decided to purchase one, and therefore got recommended the colour.

As an addition to my April favourites I have rediscovered my Eyeko Lengthening Skinny Mascara. I bought this on a whim after discovering and at first decided I did not like it. This is due to it, in my eyes at least, not standing out against my favourite cat flick eyeliner. However, as the summer is creeping in, I have been trying new looks, less eye makeup. Therefore, I have been finding this mascara particularly useful as creating a minimal make up look. The dark wand creates a separated long lash look, bold enough alone to not need any eyeliner.

My last favourite item this spring is Iggy Azalea's new album - The New Classic. My favourite tunes on the album are Black Widow featuring Rita Ora, and also Goddess. I'm not normally the type to listen to rap music, but it's beats have been helping with the many monotonous journeys I have been making recently. As well as providing a nice ear break from the classical music I listen too when revising.

3 Favourite Spring Things

I have recently been on a massive shopping spree while at my uni accommodation as I have all my spring-summer clothes at my mothers house. All winter I have been stuck in big jumpers and dull colours (which I love and don't really want to get out of). As the warmer weather and sunnier skies have finally begun to creep in, I decided not only to do some spring cleaning (~~my housemates should be grateful~~) but also some spring shopping.

I have spent hours window shopping on the internet and in the high street, as I resist the massive urge to impulse buy. Yet here are my 3 spring essentials.

As you can see I am a massive fan of pastel colours. I bought the handbag as a treat after a tough semester at uni. More of an impulse buy and I ended up consulting my friend Sadie before buying it, in which she replied: YES. The bag has three compartments and a handy long cross body strap, my preferred way to hold a bag. Also the colour is adorable and definitely matches my home bedroom wall I have just noticed...

The coat was also a surprise buy. I usually don't shop in the Primark in Norwich as it is tiny, as well as untidy, in comparison to their Brighton store. However on a grey day I went shopping with my housemate, determined to find a light coat or jacket to replace my woollen winter coat. Thankfully Primark wasn't busy as it was a Wednesday, and so we searched the rails until my housemate picked up the coat. And now I cannot stop wearing it, even when it is 18'C outside, it still proves to be a lighter comfy outerwear.

My brogues, I must admit are not new. However I have recently had them re-heeled and re-soled, so they feel like new. In the winter my feet get incredibly cold, so the last few months I have been wearing thick sheep fur boots. As Spring has arrived, so does my love of brogues reappears. These will not be leaving my feet so easy this year.
